Carbon of a letter from Heath to Raymond V. McNally, 200 East 16th Street, New York City.
January 21, 1941
Orginal is missing.
Dear Mr. McNally:
Just a line or two in lieu of a whole lot of things I would like to say to you.
What is pressing on my mind right now is to locate a copy of an article I have prepared for the National Real Estate Journal under the title of “Why Land Value Should Not Be Taxed.” A search through my papers fails to reveal any copy of this, and I am wondering if I did not leave a copy with you? Please look through your papers and let me have it immediately if you can find it. I have a special need for this article in dealing with some real estate people. I think it is the most important – the most searching and deeply reasoned argument I have put out against the “Old Testament” or negative aspect of Henry George1s philosophy of freedom.
There is a possibility of my coming to New York for the week of January 27th. Let me know if you have anything going on or anything can be arranged for that or the following week?
Many good wishes to you and Mrs. McNally, and hoping to see you within the next week or so, I am,
Sincerely yours,
SH:ML
