Carbon of a letter from Heath to Howard E. Kershner, Christian Freedom Foundation, New York City
February 26, 1957
Dear Dr. Kershner:
Thank you for your letter of February 11th, advising me of allotment of time for the May 1st meeting.
I find it helpful to think of freedom as one must think of living: not merely as a condition, but as a process, a proceeding; not as something possessed, but as something being done.
I would therefore prefer to have as my topic “The Practice of Christian Freedom,” rather than our efforts to obtain it, if you find that no less acceptable to you. I will endeavor to have something prepared in advance as you request.
Cordially,
SH:m
