Dear Dr. M
I expect to be at my home in Elkridge, Maryland, for the week beginning November 14. I shall be very glad of an opportunity to see you and perhaps communicate some stimulating and suggestive ideas to one or more of your classes or to some of your associates in history or other social or natural sciences. I include the natural sciences because I am profoundly convinced that it is only the failure to employ the objective methods of the natural sciences that has so long obscured the intrinsic harmonies and adaptive relationships that constitute the life and growth of Society. It is the beauty in natural phenomena that has ever been the inspiration and the lure of the scientist and the creative artist, and, just as . . . so, do I believe, may they build
