Penned notes for a letter, perhaps a Saturday Review of Literature ad?
Mid 1930s ?
I am non-literary and decidedly non-spectacular but can present quietly in small company to capacious minds vital, constructive ideas on art, science and history (the social scene to date), never yet in print, enough for many volumes; including the one plain formula of every social advance thus far made and for the solvent and profitable conduct of all community business (public services) without altruism /and/ with no more place for force or fraud in municipal and national affairs than in a well conducted hotel.
If I have any mission it is personally to fertilize and inspire, leaving the industrious to write.
I am independent, materially and mentally, seeking only aesthetic and intellectual give-and-take, and am often in New York.
Very truly yours,
