Pencilings for a poem
No date
/Abyss of Silent years/
Were she but twice her age or I half mine
With no abyss of silent years between
Our hands might span the void, our hearts entwine.
For there is the eager light within her eyes
And mystic meanings ageless as the sun.
Far spent gardens put forth buds again
O, quiet vision, large-eyed grave and calm
Whence come that wonder light in wondering eyes
Whose gaze is set so far yet holds surprise
What depths are signaled in this wonder gaze
/There were certainly mistakes in reading this writing. -Editor/
