About 1961
He /Heath/ referred to the Foundation having publicized in 1956 a plan for a guaranteed non-political administration of the Suez Canal under which the conflicting desires of all nations and parties desiring to use the Canal would be reconciled and the interests of all parties conserved and advanced.
On /date – fall 1959/ Mr. Heath was the evening and morning speaker at Campbell House, San Jacinto, California, headquarters of Spiritual Mobilization. His theme for both meetings, “The Christian Alternative to Public Force”, was very favorably received.
On ______ and again at a Faculty Luncheon at Chapman College, Mr. Heath gave addresses on “The Common Law in History and Growing Today”. This was followed by _____ evening session on “The Spiritual Nature of Man as Related to Public Affairs”. President of the College Dr. John L. Davis, in a subsequent letter to the Foundation, proposed arrangements for a further series of lectures and discussions on “The Christian Doctrine of Man”.
During the week of _____, Mr. Heath entertained President Benson of Claremont Men’s College in New York and brought him in contact with The Franklin J. Matchette Foundation with a view to establishing a Department of Philosophy at the Claremont Men’s College.
On November 13th, Mr. Heath, returning to California, gave an address en route to the Women’s Club of the Henry George School of Social Science in Chicago on “The Real Contribution of Henry George to Economic Theory”.
