Work — What it might be — Inspiring, Creative Sense of Responsibility and Ownership. Easy to get

 

 Not a word about what work is when regarded as a function of the units in a social organism.

 

 What do people do when they work? At the bottom they do nothing else but exchange services. Each gives a large quantity of one kind of services and receives in return a large quantity and also a large variety of other services. This is usually called wealth production and distribution.

 

 If men lack work it must be because they are prevented from exchanging their services with each other. All taxes and other restrictions on trade act in this way.
