I was a ‘prentice boy.

I am still a member of the I.O.M. International Order of Machinists.

I am opposed to all war but realize that we must transcend it.

I vision every human being having freedom to make his living almost as easily as taking his breath.

But I realize that this can only be achieved by the highest faculties of men — by those qualities and capacities wherein they transcend the beasts — by the activation of their creative energies with the light and guidance of objective reason — the technique of science.

There is no shorter cut. “Resist not evil, but overcome evil with good,” for “he that taketh the sword shall perish by the sword.”
