Carbon of letter from Heath, 312 Halesworth St., Santa Ana, California, to granddaughter Beatrice Roethke
August 28, 1961
Dear Beatrice:
It was pleasant to hear your voice on the telephone with some word concerning that errant cousin of yours whom I was scouting around for in Seattle. He at last showed up here, and I am having a pleasant visit with him. He has let me read his Master’s thesis on Proprietary Community, and I am quite excited about it.
I hope you and Ted have been having a good summer. I very much enjoyed especially the tail-end of my visit with you and him, with our discussion of the spirit of poetry and the arts and such like. He sounded nice and hearty over the telephone too.
Affectionately,
