Penned letter to Heath from Elizabeth Phelps, Mount Ranier, Maryland
October 31, 1942
Dear Mr. Heath:
I got your telephone message at the office while on night work and I was indeed sorry not to have been able to see you at the time.
I read the pamphlet you gave me titled “The Inspiration of Beauty” and enjoyed it immensely. It was really inspiring, itself and caused me to think deeply. I hope I can read more of your work and find it half as enjoyable.
I regret so the fact that I was not on day work when you called, but I do hope that sometimes we can keep that luncheon date we planned when it is more convenient to the both of us.
As ever,
/s/ Elizabeth Phelps
P.S. I’m anxious to hear of your visit to Winchester, Va.
I’m sure it was a pleasant trip.
