December 27, 1955
Dear Mr. Heath:
I started reading FLOWERING EARTH as soon as it arrived. What a really inspired book. I shall use it myself for inspiration as soon as ideas or devotion to the work begin to flag. It also made me wild for the time when I start to work in my garden again.
The Lord’s Prayer in one syllable is a poem in two senses. Simple and meaningful as a Japanese painting.
Thank you so much and many good wishes for the new year,
/s/ Ruth Underhill
