Letter from Kermit Fischer, President, Fischer & Porter Company, Hatboro, Pennsylvania
May 10, 1957
Dear Mr. Heath:
Thank you for your letter of 10th April and the copy of your letter to the Editors of the Harvard Business Review which you attached to it. I appreciate very much your sending me this letter and I don’t want to be either improperly blunt or ungracious in replying.
However, while you speak in the second paragraph of your letter to the Harvard Business Review of the “naively implied thesis” of Dr. Ohmann’s, my feeling is that it is you who are being naive about the situation and that you end up with what amounts to just a lot of platitudes.
Just the last few nights I have been reading Dr. Fromm’s “The Sane Society”. As I read it I could not help but feel that in good part it offered the explanations for the problems Dr. Ohmann has isolated and set before us clearly and fairly.
I’m sorry I’m not on your side but remain, with best good will,
Yours sincerely,
/s/ Kermit Fischer
