Carbon of letter to James R. Newman, 3409 34th Place NW, Washington, D.C.
June 17, 1957
Dear Dr. Newman:
For a number of years I have admired your public services and your various writings on science and public affairs and, as a long-time subscriber for the Scientific American, I have followed with interest your very perceptive reviews of new books as they have appeared.
In consequence of this enjoyable acquaintance with your mind, I am happy to present to you with my compliments an inscribed copy of my “CITADEL, MARKET AND ALTAR”, in which I have treated the voluntary interfunctioning of men as a higher form of precisely the same cosmic energy that in all its lower organizational forms constitutes the so-called “natural” world.
Hoping you will find this new volume significant, and also perhaps suitable for review, I am, with highest compliments,
Sincerely yours,
Spencer Heath
