DR. HEATH SPEAKS IN CULLOWHEE ON NATURAL SCIENCE

CULLOWHEE, Feb. 17. (Special) The student body of Western Carolina Teachers college was addressed Monday by Dr. Spencer Heath, a retired engineer, designer, inventor and attorney, of New York and Maryland.

Dr. Heath’s topic was concerned with the development of a new natural science, that of the “social phenomenon”.

“Community is synonymous with civilization,” said Dr. Heath, “in that the members all serve one another without discrimination with everyone a potential dealer or customer of good will. The person who gives the most is always the richer and happier for his experience.”

An open forum was held after the main address in which students and faculty members participated. When questioned concerning his philosophy, Dr. Heath stated, “I am not a reformer, but a discoverer of how the social heritage has brought and holds the world so far out of barbarism and, as we come to understand it, can bless it more and more.”
