Penned quotation by Spencer MacCallum on notepad paper from Fritz W. Wrent, “The Ecology of Desert Plants,” Scientific American, April 1955, page 68.
“The laws of human behavior are very much in dispute, largely because there are no obvious experimental approaches to them. But animal and plant behavior can be studied both in nature and in the laboratory, and the science of their ecology should eventually be helpful in the understanding of human relationships, for the basic laws which govern the interrelations among organisms in general must also underlie human behavior.”
