1-2  Announcement

3    Energy Stream – duration.

4    Numbers and duration – dependent variables.

5    Energy per Unit

6    Quality – Power to do, to change, to create.

7    Science, – philosophy, religion have a common basis in the qualitative

      aspect of energy.

7    Living things.-Mass, velocity, duration, – population so integrated.

8    Energy per Generation. Life-years. Equivalent kilowatt-hours.

8    Energy transformation without change in amount.

9    Population. Organism. Waves of energy. Light, composition of.

9    Energy as Life-years, ND Frequency = 1

                                         D

9    Cosmic Energy rising into life forms and returning to and transforming

     environment.

10   Transformation negative or positive. Crudely or nightly organized

      society.

11   New cosmic energy attracted to take organic and human form.

11   Social organization – like the atomic. Without collision and

      disintegration.

12   Human relationships same as atomic. Altruistic intent not necessary.

Philanthropy and benevolence of intent no reliance.

12   Constant quantity of energy for comparisons. ND must be constant.

      Dependent variables.

13   The generations as energy waves – Mathematical investigation. Changes of wave length qualitative. Environmental change negative or positive.

14   Conflict reduces wealth and shortens lives.

Contract increases wealth and lengthens lives.

      Numbers change inversely.

14   Long waves of life-years creative upon environment. Self-creative

     indirectly.

15   Years of infancy dependent. Only the adult life-years creative.

16   Illustration of million population at 25 and half-million at 50 years

     span.

17   Three-fold improvement for the society. Six-fold for the individual.

17   Social organization extends life by freedom. Reverse condition shortens life and increases numbers. Free relations vs anarchy or tyranny.

  1. Lengthened span in United States due to freedom and productivity. Rise in numbers due to fertile race and immigration.

  1.  Two reverse influences. Cessation of immigration. Declining

     fertility. Anxious speculation.

20   Three terrors.

21    Race of Morons. Race suicide. Ageing population.

22    Reproductivity transformed into productivity.

23    Reversely – a high birth rate among the depressed classes is also eugenic. Broader base for emergence of superior type of individuals.

24  Among higher organisms favorable conditions result in negative

fertility. Lengthened lives have less need to be renewed.

25  In all animate nature general correlation between life span and

     reproduotivity.

26  Conservatism of energy in the living and social world. There are only

transfers and transformations – one law.

27  Social organism an integration of lesser organisms. Its body is a mass

integration. Its life is a time or change integration. Basic

metabolism is exchange of energy, service. It grows and lives by this

or for lack of it dies.

27  Particular out of Universal. Life out of environment. Duration depends

     on interior organization of energy.

28  Biological organization utilizes environment. Social organization

creates, compulsive relations destroy the organiization and man’s

     dominion declines.

28  Exchange relationships in community affairs – obtained by property

     in land.

29  Energy analysis of specific institutions.

First community requisite, property in land, by consent.

Social holding and distribution of land escape from savagery and

     tyranny.

30  Property and contract in land makes production and exchange possible.

Communism of the market. Extension of life.

Exchange becomes services regardless of ignorance or selfish intent.

Division of labor – Transformation of the earth.

31  Taking the average of mass and of velocity as unity.

Population as a quantity of energy must ever be average numbers times

     average duration.

32  Life is manifested by numbers times duration or frequency.

For a given amount of energy less duration must increase numbers, more

     duration reduces numbers.

33   Self-organization of a population gives it power to improve

environment. This makes possible more cosmic energy flowing into human

     form.

34   A generation is a wave. Waves may be transformed. Lengthened life years

are the available and possible social energy. None can be destroyed.

It must all flow in social or in anti-social forms.

35   Description of the social process. – Basic function. Necessity of

ownership to production and exchange. Exchange transforms energies

     into services.

36   Energy not so transformed becomes destructive, in government,

tyranny, war. Society’s use of force against itself or any of its

members is social suicide. The legitimate field of force is against

those who have outlawed themselves by disrupting social bonds.

37      Socialized energy flows chiefly into private services, unsocialized

energy in public affairs, except in the primary public service of

property in land. Unsocialized energy is what destroys nations and

     empires.

38   Wars caused by the compulsiveness of public affairs. Wars can cease

     only by socializing public affairs.

38   Land ownership the basis of community service. Distribution by

contract instead of coercion depends on ownership. Under

owner-administration of public affairs all available life years can

     be creatively employed.

38a  The exchange technique, through ownership, releases energy from

basic needs to realm of spirit and creation. The market can serve and

transform the citadel and support the practice of the inspirational

     arts.

39   Survival and advancement dependent upon the energy above that of

     reproduction being freely exchanged.

39   Quality, value, beauty arise from freedom of will to choose between

     acceptable alternatives.

40   Serving its units the prime function of the social organization.

40   Three basic needs of Society.

41   Implications of the “Energy Concept.”

42   Apostrophe to the altar.

43   System of nature extends to the social institutions. Science can

reveal their process and make man supreme.
