The body — the soma — is under all of the limitations of the outer, the non-living, world. But whatever informs that body, gives it life, has none of the limitations of the outer and objective world. The body in all creative endeavor resents and resists with pain the strainings of the spirit to take visible forms.
(Now I’m playing false to my long-time stand that inspiration is a matter only of joy. I suspect that it is only a surface inconsistency, that when we look deeper, all things are harmonious and interrelated when sufficiently pursued and understood.)
