Carbon of letter from Spencer MacCallum, Secretary, to William E. Clement, 718 Hibernia Bank Bldg., New Orleans 12, Louisiana

May 9, 1960

Dear Mr. Clement:

Your copy of Citadel. Market and Altar is going out in this mail. We appreciate your order and your interest.

I believe you will find the addresses of many of those who have commented on Citadel, Market and Altar in the various Who’s Whos.

We are very much interested in understanding the evolving patterns in society of successful human relationships. In this connection, most of us here feel at the present time that free trade in land is preferable to public administration of it through governments, central or local.

You might be interested in seeing another report of ours

of some three years ago, in which Mr. Heath proposed an application of the proprietary principle of public administration to the then critical situation in the Suez. Copy of this is enclosed.

      With all good wishes,

Sincerely yours,

  Spencer MacCallum
