People, the world, needs not to be reformed, but to be inspired. Virtually all men desire the good, and desire expresses power. What is lacking is method and inspiration. Now inspiration is the gift of the aesthetic arts and method is the gift of science. Nature gives us power. It is expressed in desire — desire for what is felt to be good. — The Good. Science shows us method, gives us light to perceive what is true. – The True. The aesthetic arts give inspiration — creative emotion — through direct apprehension of beauty. — The Beautiful.
The inspiration of the beautiful is emotional, direct to the Soul (consciousness if we prefer). It is direct and native, not derivative.
The apprehension of the true is derived from the practice of the intellect in the technique of Science — the scientific method.
Our predisposition towards the good comes of our sensing living power in ourselves and expressing it as desire.
