Dresden-like the body of it,

Translucent, pale and fragile

But there flows a spirit throughout Boundless, mystic, magical.

Rooted in the canyon’s crevice, Wind-driven, jarred by thunder,

Clinging without tree or trellis

Till it burst the rocks asunder.

Life abundant pulses in it

Beaming, gleaming, its expression

Of its Dream and Will to win it, —

Beauty, peace its own possession.
