A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

The once born man, the animal man, is driven by his animal nature and animal necessities to keep alive. And when he dies he dies entire; he leaves no gifts of grace or beauty to mankind.

The reborn (twice born) man, the spiritual man, has answered the spirit’s call. He counts his animal nature least and aspires not merely to live but to a life more abundant for all whate’er the cost.

He seeks out the ways of God in the works of God. He makes God’s ways his ways and, building the dream he dreams, the beauty that exalts him, into his workaday world, he bears fruits of the spirit in the works of art he creates and in the wisdom of understanding that he learns. Beauty for its own sake, wisdom for its own grandeur and power, his kingdom is of the spirit now and always and in worlds to come.
