Verbatim note by Spencer MacCallum from conversation with Heath, seeking ideas for a Christmas message
About 1957
Christ came into a world of force by arms. The nations were united under Rome, who imposed her peace upon the world. Christ was the Prince of Peace, but not peace by force of arms. The peace of the Spirit that would make men helpers of one another and thereby creators, divinely endowed with power to build a life-serving world. He knew the iron rule of Moses — from Cain to Caesar.
But not the peace of nations united under Rome. His way was the way of life, his Spirit was the light of life. His Kingdom was to grow, all unknown like a thief in the night, in the ways of men. His Spirit is in effect wherever two or more come together under His Golden Rule of doing each unto others as he would have others do unto him — serving them.
