The taxation that now supports the public services also destroys the demand for them and the ability to pay for them.
The reason land-owners do not now pay any more than they must to provide and maintain public services is because they cannot now sell all the public services that taxation now provides. The unused services are of no value because of lack of demand for them.
We need public capitalism (as well as private).
