Item 21
Taping by Spencer MacCallum from conversation with Heath reflecting on MacCallum’s idea of the vulnerability of the village community in its normal organization. Same occasion as Item 35.
Winter 1957-58?
The village community is not well adapted to an inimical external human environment. It might be advantageous for some to be masters and some to be slaves under a state of siege. But when trading with the enemy evolves, then the political relationship is no longer serviceable but becomes inimical to the advancement of the society.
