As the amoeba is a microcosm of man, so man is a microcosm of society. And society is a microcosm of the cosmos. That is, taking the amoeba together with its potentialities for organization. And society is just one department of the cosmos.
To put it poetically, the amoeba is the promise of man, just as the man is the promise of society.
