ISMS AND THE IONS

     To the stupid repose is heaven; action delights the virile mind. The dull and fearful mind finds a master (or is found by one) to enchain it. Its advance, if any, is toward its preordained doom — extinction. It is gregarious; it seeks solace in numbers, all of one bond and brand. That brand is ISM. In one form or another it is burnt into the mind and soul of almost the entire human herd. Only the mavericks are at large to roam the valleys and the steeps of vision and adventure. And with what jaundiced eye the herd regards all who will not accept their servile bonds.

     The maverick mind eludes bonds. It takes to motion more than to mass. Its vision is of ION. These letters shine in the light that leads it on. Action, ambition, description, definition, division, function, integration, evolution, realization, exaltation.

     I will not list any of the isms. They are of one family name and brand. We don’t need their given names. They are of the brood of lies. Their name is legion and only by the exercise of right reason, that Divinest power can they be cast out. And until we do cast them out we can hope to attain to none but Gadarene heights.
