Submission 631b84acb2dd0
Typed pages, incomplete, by Heath with penciled corrections. Especially notable for its one-page preface, suggesting that this might have been intended as the beginning of a book. Compare with Item 2044.
Submission 631b8434a082c
Item typed and preserved by Heath from “The Science of Language” by Friedrich Max Mueller. Lines 23-27 and 31-36, marked in pencil in the margin, are here printed in bold to identify them.
Submission 631b83ec84543
Newspaper clipping sent to Heath by Janet Mabic, 55 East End Avenue, New York City, and preserved by him. New York Times?
Submission 631b8394a8595

Submission 631b8342ce457
Typed pages spontaneously dictated by Heath to Spencer MacCallum, then checked and amended by Heath, reviewing Paul R. Heyl, The Philosophy of a Scientific Man. New York: Vanguard Press, 1933
Submission 631b7ee27df0d
Dictation taken in pencil by Spencer MacCallum for a letter to Edward McCrady, crossed out indicating that it might have been used for that purpose. Raw dictation such as this would have been edited by Heath and MacCallum before transcription.
Submission 631b7e1284b33
Pencil drafting on notepad paper for letters to Erwin Schrödinger and Louis de Broglie. One version of Schrödinger’s letter has been cobbled together here by the Archive editor, Spencer MacCallum, from Heath’s several false starts. Heath told MacCallum that the woman who cleaned his New York apartment at 11 Waverly Place had brought Schrödinger’s book to him one day, and he considered it among the most important books he had ever read; he likely had been talking philosophic ideas with her as he would with anyone.
Submission 631b7dbcbcf92
Pencil notes by Heath on notepad paper for letters to William Ernest Hocking (moved to Hocking Correspondence, Item 3072), Percy Bridgeman, and a person not identified
