QUANTUM THEORY OF POPULATION
Population is a stream of energy. Its flow is discontinuous. Each generation is a quantum or quantity of population energy — a quantity that flows without discontinuity.
If the average mass and motion of the individuals in a population is constant, then the average span is the unit of time associated with that average mass-motion and this mass-motion multiplied by this unit of time is the quantum or least unit of population energy as action. Multiplying this unit by the number of units in any given population gives the quantum of action characteristic of each generation of that population as an unbroken train of energy waves between the discontinuities of its successive generations.
