SOCIONOMY*

(The New Science of Society)

Some of its Discoveries and Correlations

  1. Population as an Energy Flow in which its successive generations constitute a series of Energy Waves whose frequency period is the average length of life.
  2. The function of the Social Organization, namely, — to transform progressively its environing world and thus indefinitely elevate and increase human life through lengthening the average normal life span.
  3. Identification of the Qualitative and Creative with the Durational element in population energy—the lengthening of the Wave—the Lifespan.
  4. The Basic Human Techniques: — Coercion, Co-operation, Consecration,—Citadel, Market and Altar—corresponding with the physio-mechanical, the chemico-nutritional, and the psycho-emotional departments in the individual.
  5. The Dependence of Liberty on Property, Contract on Ownership, Security upon full Freedom to OWN, and to serve and be served, by Exchange. — And the Contrariety between Contract and Coercion, Property and Expropriation, Ownership and Taxation, and of the Political as against the Contractual Administration of property and services.
  6. Value and Exchange—The Contractual Functioning of the Market—as an existing System of Socialized Energy Flow—Voluntary Contribution into the Market, Democratic and Voluntary Distribution out of the Market.

  1. The Social and Administrative character of Ownership and of Property as Capital, in contrast with anti-social political appropriation and dissipation of property by taxation.
  2. The Basic Social Pattern in the primitive Patriarchal and original Feudal Communities as the true Organizational Prototype of the fully developed Free Society.
  3. The Social Function of the Institution of Property in Land—Its Basic Public Service and its automatic Recompense therefor. How the “Unearned Increment” is Earned.—Public administration without coercion.—Sound Public Finance without taxation.
  1. Demonstration that the Capitalist System of Ownership and administration of property, as Capital, for the use of others through Free Contract and Exchange, once it is extended into a like administration of the Public Capital and Services, will develop rapidly into a full attainment, without force or opposition, of the collectivist Ideal.
  2. The Inspiration of Beauty as the Essentially Creative—the spiritual quality and character of the Cosmos—Source of Ideal Aspirations —motivation to intellectual adventure, of the esthetic arts, scientific advance, and pursuit of creative ideals.
  3. The Social Apotheosis of the Individual. — Self-Realization and continuous development by exercise of his inspirational and artistic, his creative and thereby divine nature throughout his increasing length of days.

  SYNOPSIS

SOCIONOMY — the Science of Society — of the voluntary organization of mankind. The basic rationale of free relationships, and the self-financing non-coercive productive technology of free enterprise. — a) Extension of this free technology into the field of public and community services. — b) The impending organization of community owners to provide public benefits and services to their properties and thereby to their inhabitants. — c) Profits and values by way of recompense to their organized owners for productive, community-wide administration of sites and resources, including the community public capital. — An organized proprietary authority taking none but voluntary revenue, making money legitimately by giving protection and other common or public services. Providing community-wide public services at a profit and thereby protection against taxation and bureaucratic insolvency.
