White envelope has items 813 – 816.
Mere escape from bondage is the technique of none but the severely primitive. Freedom always has reference to a unit, an individual. The unit standing alone is utterly unfree, the slave of circumstance, creature only of his environment. His condition is almost completely necessitous. But, organized with others, in ways that are reciprocal, that is, without friction and without collision, his energies impinge upon environment. He determines it. Environment no longer completely determines him. Through these interrelationships with his fellows, he is born into a new kind of life, no longer a creature but as creator. For this kind of association gives him creative power which is, by definition, spiritual power. As a creator, molding his situation to his dream, as such and only as such is he free.
