Item 890

The uniformities of law in the inorganic world are of endless age and fully evolved.

In the organic world they are younger and less completely evolved.

In the social organization they are youngest and least completely evolved.

But they are basically the same — the same process of rational integration at each level into more and more stable and enduring forms.

Each simpler kind of organization supplies constituent units in the higher forms.

Atoms are the units in molecules.

Molecules are the units in cells.

Cells are units in plants and animals.

Animals at the maximum of their evolution

come into the human form.

Humans become the elemental units in the organic

societal organization — the creative society transcending all preceding forms.
