Has society so frozen and congealed, that we can get social change only by blasting it with seven different kinds of dynamite no one of which is potent enough to be of much effect? Probably some people think so. Unhappily!
Are these seven weak influences to be regarded as Theories of Social Change?
Change is inherent and fundamental to the organism. The needed adjustment is in wise choosing between activities that promote the metabolism of society and such as do not. Only by such choice can we escape the katabolism that follows when structure misfunctions.
