Penned letter to Heath from Olive Rush, 630 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Dear Spencer Heath
It is so beautiful — the Sonnet — and the Chapter, The Inspiration of Beauty. I don’t know how to tell you my delight in it.
It all came just at the time of my sister Emma’s flight into the great Unknown. 94 years that was the time she had tried it out. And we returned her to her old home and sons and daughters.
Now I am looking into my own life more — again. And your letter, sonnet and chapter are a welcome and lovely introduction into a review of that strange thing — my life.
Sometime when a rereading and meditation make it possible, I want to try a “response” as you generously invite at the end of your chapter, and will write again. —Or better when you come to visit your grandson in Albuquerque, perhaps he or Lucile will bring you in again. I do not forget the joyous inspiration I got out of that visit.
I thank you so much, with all good wishes –
/s/ Olive Rush
