Carbon of a letter from Heath to Harry Grant Atkinson, Managing Editor, The Appraisal Journal, 22 West Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois.

January 21, 1941

Original is missing.

Dear Mr. Atkinson:

Please refer to your letter of January 30th, 1940, in which you advised me that your Editorial Board hold under review and consideration a manuscript from me entitled “Why Land Value Should Hot Be Taxed.” I do not have any record of this manuscript having been returned to me. Will you kindly let me know if it is in your files and, if possible, let me have it at an early date? I regard this article as much more penetrating and fundamental than anything that has been printed in opposition to the destructive employment of taxation against real estate values. I, therefore, look forward to its having some very serious consideration by the authorities working in your line.

The other manuscript entitled “How to Raise Land Value and Income” referred to in your letter of January 30, 1940, as having been returned, was duly received.

Thanking you for past courtesies, and trusting that I may have your prompt compliance, I am,

Yours very truly,

Spencer Heath
