Carbon of letter from Heath to Mrs. Mary Fels, Peter Stuyvesant Hotel, 2 West 86th Street, New York City
February 18, 1941
Dear Mrs. Fels:
Thinking it may interest you, I am sending you, herewith, a copy of a letter received some time ago from Mr. Foley, together with my somewhat extensive reply.
Mr. Foley’s letter is a criticism of some of the further understandings and applications of Henry George’s philosophy of freedom that I have been trying in recent years to achieve and to communicate to those who are seeking more light and spiritual truth.
I am planning to be in New York for about a week beginning next Saturday, February 22nd. If there should be any matters pertaining to the advancement of the philosophy of freedom concerning which you might care to consult me in any way, I should be very happy to see you again. I will be at the Hotel Woodstock, 127 West 43rd Street, as usual, (Bryant 9-3000).
I think we do not often enough avail ourselves of the strength and beauty of the religious approach to the philosophy of freedom. I am sending you my letter to Mr. Foley in the belief that my treatment from the religious point of view, especially in the second half of the letter, will hold a special interest and appeal.
With many kind regards, and wishing you the best of everything, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Spencer Heath SH:ML
