Item 1393
Letter to H. G. Moulton, Brookings Institution, 722 Jackson Place NW, Washington DC
August 16, 1941
Dear Doctor Moulton:-
Since the very pleasant meeting and discussion I had with you some weeks ago, it has occurred to me that in case you found interesting the very brief outline of “The Energy Concept of Population” which I left with you, you might be further interested in a much fuller elaboration of the same theme. I am, therefore, sending you, herewith, a considerably extended rewrite of the same general matter. Since this version is only provisional, and not in its complete and final form, I trust you will overlook its present inefficiencies.
I am writing this letter from New York, but expect to be back in Maryland within a few days, and look forward with pleasure to the more extended conversation which you were so kind as to suggest.
It is a pleasure again to express my appreciation of the valuable research your institution is carrying on, and to hope some of my suggestions may be an aid in directing your investigations towards the basic institution of society upon which all contractual, as opposed to political or coercive, relationships depend. I refer, of course, to the Institution of Property in Land.
Sincerely yours,
Spencer Heath
