Carbon of letter from Heath, 312 Halesworth Street, Santa Ana, California, to Thayer Lindsley
August 28, 1961
Dear Thayer Lindsley:
It must have been a couple of years since I had the last of my most happy contacts with you. I have been here in California most of that time, and you have been roving as much as ever, I presume. Out here, I have been able to awaken considerable interest in my idea of self-sustaining communities operating under the non-political, proprietary principle and find examples of them in these parts greater in number and in size of them than perhaps anywhere else. This social evolution, though still in its infancy, seems quite a widespread and growing phenomenon out here. I recall with pleasure the keen interest you showed in the occasional but all-too-few happy contacts I had with you.
My present gracious hostess, Mrs. H. Thaddeus Manning, while in New York a few weeks ago, was kind enough to communicate with your office and bring me some tidings of you. I would be happy to know something of your schedule this fall with a view possibly to seeing you again. There is a fair possibility that I may be in New York for a while within the coming month or so.
With many wishes for your continued good health and prospering affairs,
Cordially yours,
Spencer Heath
