Letter dictated by Heath from The Science of Society Foundation, 11 Waverly Place East, New York 3, New York, for selected librarians
1953
Dear _______:
In the literature of Political Collectivism, its two great modern Classics are, as to Capital — Das Kapital, by Karl Marx, and as to Land — Progress and Poverty, by Henry George. Concerning the first, there is a vast literature of controversy; but as to the second, the opposition has been, by comparison, almost negligible.
Towards reducing this deficiency of argument on the other side, we have taken over from The Freeman Magazine, publication and distribution of the 26-page booklet entitled, “Progress and Poverty Reviewed and Its Fallacies Exposed,” by Spencer Heath, LL.B., LL.M. and are supplying a limited number of them gratis, to selected libraries of your standing and class.
Accordingly, and accompanying this letter, we are pleased to present to you for your library purposes and with our compliments, a copy of our publication entitled as above. We include also and with similar purpose our triple booklet on Private Property in Land and on Real-Estate Administration.
Very truly yours,
sm/m
Additional copies for separate listings or departments of your Library can be obtained upon request.
