Carbon of a letter from Heath to Frank Chodorov, Editor, The Freeman Magazine, Irvington-on-Hudson, New York
September 26, 1954
Dear Frank Chodorov:
Thanks for your note calling my attention to your The Income Tax: Root of All Evil. No, I have not read it except as it may have appeared in The Freeman. Thank you for your offer of sending it to me. And bill me the price.
Many, and many more congratulations on The Freeman under your editorship. I have just finished reading the current issue, and am delighted with it. Some day you and your associates will see more of the positive side of the shield in which we will find the way not merely to fight out, but to grow and evolve out, of our present public difficulties.
A letter I addressed to you some time ago is still valid. I enclose a reprint of it for your possible further consideration. Also, on the negative side, my recent critique of Dr. McGlynn’s very succinct setting out of the land communist theory.
My continued congratulations to you and to Leonard Read, to whom I would like to be remembered.
Sincerely,
SH/m
