Letter from Heath to Mrs. Stuart Browne /Evelyn Underhill/, Oxford University, Oxford, England. Not sent because addressee deceased.
September 24, 1957
Dear Mrs. Browne:
It is now many years since I read your Life of the Spirit and the Life of Today and was very greatly inspired by it. I have not kept up with your later writings and am, no doubt, the poorer for it.
However, I have delved in the realm of the spirit with particular reference to the life of today, as evidenced by some of my findings tersely expressed in a little paper that I read at the Annual Meeting of The Christian Freedom Foundation in New York last May. I am enclosing a copy of this paper and also my little brochure, “The Inspiration of Beauty,” feeling that these may evoke a spiritual as well as intellectual response.
Please accept this salutation from afar, in evidence of the unity of the spirit in all times and lands.
Sincerely and admiringly yours,
SH/m
