Dear Mr. Montgomery:

 

     It was a pleasure to hear from you by your letter of July 16^th.

 

     With reference to the printed material, “THE HANDBOOK OF THE ATOMIC AGE,” distributed by Lloyd R. Lee, I waded through all this only to find it a monomaniacal pipedream of government planning to the nth degree. However, many thanks for remembering me.

 

     The situation vis-a-vis the two great parties seems to be shaping up for some dramatic change. I hope it will be in the direction for which you so firmly stand. For my part, I have little faith in any possible political remedies against the evils of political government. Society must heal its wounds by its own development and growth.

 

     With many thanks for past kindnesses and all good wishes, and kind remembrance to Mrs. Newman,
