Carbon of letter from Heath’s daughter’s home, Rutherford House, Winchester, Virginia to Miss Laurel Wilson, 528 N. Linwood, Santa Ana, California

May 25, 1962

Dear Laurel,

It was an inspiration to receive your “Miracle of Easter” some time ago, with its enclosures and so many kind thoughts and well wishings. You are always inspiring.

I have seen but little of Spencer of late — he is working diligently on that thesis of his in New York.

I’ve no doubt you are having a great success with your dancing classes. Your dancing will make a great contribution to the whole field of the Altar. In my opinion the dance is destined to become a leader instead of a stepchild among the arts. And you are one of those who are going to make it so. I hope you have read Havelock Ellis’ The Dance of Life. If not, you have it coming to you. There is also a book highly rated by the highest Catholic authority, the title of which is, The Mass as a Form of Dance. Author’s name forgotten. It carries what is called the “Imprimatur” of the Church.

It will be a delight to see you next time, as always.

Sincerely,
