/Toynbee, saying there is not much to be done about the unregenerate nature of man, but there is none­theless “the opportunity open to souls, by way of the learning that comes through suffering, for getting into closer communion with God, and becoming less unlike Him, during their passage through this world.”/

 

 

     Suffering and death are of hell. Creation and joy are of heaven. Hell is not the anteroom of heaven.
