Carbon of a letter to A.H. Hobbs, Dept of Sociology, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia PA.
August 22, 1957
Dear Dr. Hobbs:
In your quest for a rational science of man in his societal organization and affairs, it occurs to me that yu might enjoy reading, and find some inspiration in the synthesis of human institutions I have made in CITADEL, MARKET AND ALTAR.
I hope that you will approve of the way it is founded in physical and biological science, as a firm basis for its assimilation of the quantitative with the qualitative in life. I feel sure you will appreciate its proposed application of business technology — the free enterprise principle — to community services as well as private affairs.
I am happy to feel your companionship in progress toward the light.
With many best wishes, I remain
Sincerely yours,
Spencer Heath
