Animals and Wild Men:

 

Infancy — Dependence on parents, Maturity — Dependence on nature.

Wild men — Unsocial-ized — life span not extending

(as an average) beyond maturity.

Social-ized Men:

 

Exchange relationship among adults. Average life span extending beyond maturity.

 

The total quanta or amount of “action” in an individual or population is its total “life-years.”

The creative potential of the society or of the individual is its total of mature life-years.
