Carbon of letter to Richard and Marian Lewis, Winchester, Virginia

December 10, 1955

Dear Marian and Dick:

I am sending you as a Christmas gift to last through the year a subscription to a California magazine called FAITH AND FREEDOM. I will not tell you about it because it speaks for itself.

To make sure that it speaks immediately to you, I am sending

you my copy of the December issue. Please do not spend too much time on the grisly details of the labor violence amounting to a local civil war in Wisconsin. But after you have looked at the Christmas card on page 2, turn over to page 19 and read about the special “Freedom Story” radio program that is being released for the Christmas season: “Story of the Three Wise Men.” I feel sure you and Dick will be interested in this.

I am also enclosing a colored circular of information concerning a weekly radio program called “The Freedom Story.” If you do not know about this already, please give attention to it now. I feel sure you and Dick will both think a great deal of it, and if he wants to broadcast it from his stations, I will be glad to help with the expense, which as you will see is only five dollars per broadcast for towns under 50,000.

A million best wishes for Christmas to you both and all — and more.

Sincerely,

SH/m

Encl:  FAITH AND FREEDOM, 12/55.

       Folder, “The Freedom Story”.
