Dear Mrs. Batson:

 

I greatly enjoyed talking with you at your brother’s house and am sorry we could not continue. Your familiarity with books and especially with ideas was very entertaining. I am sending you herewith the little brief entitled, “The Inspiration of Beauty” (last chapter of Citadel, Market and Altar) and a synopsis of some of the topics that I like to deal with upon suitable occasions.

 

 I look forward very much to seeing both you and Mr. Batson again, either in New York or wherever you may be.
