Dear Mr. Heath:

 

May 22 we came up here for the summer. The very day that I might have attended your party. I received the invitation and no wings to fly to NY City alas! I still deeply regret to have missed so

outstanding an occasion.

 

 And I would that I may know more about the book, “Citadel, Market and Altar.” What a tremendous title! And from what I judge of your other writings a profound book.

 

 Lastly — Before coming here I went through a spell of illness and departure from the city was haphazard — so — I cannot find the Maryland address and I will ask our friend Rosanna Lewis to please complete the address on the envelope.

 

 It is a privilege in life to know and greet a man who has given this world so great a contribution of inspiration and wisdom.
