August 30, 1957
Dear Mr. Heath:
Please forgive me for not answering your letter of May 10th long before this. I am interested in your comments about “SKYHOOKS”, and I thank you for sending this to me. It occurs to me that you would be interested in some of the books by the Swiss author, Max Picard, several of which I have published. In some ways, the most interesting is his HITLER IN OURSELVES, which is one of the first books I published. Picard is a profound thinker, and has had a great influence in Europe. I am quite sure that he would interest you.
I enclose a copy of our fall list, which includes a number of good books. Kirk’s new book, THE AMERICAN CAUSE, is one of the best things he has done, and I hope that it may have a considerable influence. He is a good writer, I think, and on the right track.
I send my best regards to you.
Sincerely yours,
HR/ec
