Carbon of letter from Heath at 11 Waverly Place, New York City 3, to Bradford Chambers, Woods Hole, MA
November 8, 1953
Dear Bradford:
Where are you and what are you doing? Are you responsible for all this gang business by the kids? I imagine you must have had a hand in it. It seems a long time since I saw you or any of you. I have been doing a bit of anti-Land-Communist propaganda as per my destructive review of Progress and Poverty and other documents which I enclose, and which may interest you or may not.
Congratulations, however belatedly, on your Atlantic Monthly and other articles. Save the kids all you can. But don’t forget that they will eventually have to save themselves — and that only by understanding themselves. And, most of all, understanding the social organization (as distinguished from the political) in which they must live and move and have all their being towards the light.
I have kindly and grateful recollections of your mother and father and sister who were so very gracious to me some years ago.
Sincerely,
SH:sm
